English Language & Activity Summer School (Ages 12-16)

Staff & student welfare

We care for our students 24 hours a day and their welfare is our main priority. Headington Oxford Summer School staff always oversee student activities, whether that is during mealtimes, break times or on an excursion. With one member of staff to every six students, we have the resources to offer a very high standard of supervision.

Management

Our Management team comprises a Centre Manager and an Assistant Centre Manager, who take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the school. Our Director of Studies supervises the English teaching programme and the Activity Manager takes charge of Activities and Excursions. Together, their objective is to ensure that every aspect of the school runs smoothly, safely and offers every student to chance to participate fully.

House Parents

House Parents are key members of summer school staff whose main duty is overseeing the welfare of our students. The House Parents are always available in the boarding houses and also help during break and meal times. They offer our students a friendly face with whom they can discuss any specific welfare issues.

Teachers

The English Language lessons are taught by our experienced and professional teachers, with three one hour lessons taking place on five mornings each week. Our teachers also assist in ensuring the general welfare of students, as well as playing their part in leading the activities and excursions.

Activity Leaders

Our Activity Leaders are responsible for implementing the Activity Programme and Excursion Programme. The Activity Leaders ensure that the students are enjoying the activities, that they are having fun and practicing their English.

All Headington Oxford Summer School Staff are experienced professionals who are friendly and helpful, ensuring our students feel supported and cared for whilst away from home.
